February 10, 2026: Ninth of 13-week devotion: Prayer to St. Anthony of Padua on his Sermon topic of ‘Spiritual Warfare and Temptation’
O glorious St. Anthony, faithful servant of Christ and fearless preacher of the Gospel, you who spoke with clarity about the snares of the enemy and the weakness of the human heart, intercede for me as I face the daily battles of temptation and spiritual struggle.
Teach me vigilance of soul, that I may recognize the subtle strategies of the evil one and never grow careless in my walk with God. Guard my heart with purity, my mind with truth, and my will with a firm resolve to choose what leads me closer to Christ.
When I am tempted by pride, despair, or distraction, remind me that victory is not won by my strength alone, but by humble reliance on the grace of God. Help me to cling to prayer, to the Sacraments, and to the holy Name of Jesus, which drives away darkness and restores peace.
St. Anthony, guide me to live in the light of God’s mercy, to resist evil with courage, and to trust always in the power of Christ who has already conquered sin and death. May my life be a testimony to God’s grace at work within me. Amen.
