Welcome to the St. Laurence Family
St. Laurence strives to be a Family of Families, built on the eternal foundation of Jesus Christ and His Apostles. We hope everyone in our parish is connected, supported, and challenged in their daily walk with Christ.
We desire that this website increases your participation in our parish, as well as in the mission of the larger Church. On these pages you will find our Religious Education classes for all ages, Youth Ministry programs for our middle school and high school students, bible studies for adults, prayer ministries, support groups and social justice ministries, as well.
Weekly Parish eBlast
Sign up for our weekly eBlast! Sent out on Wednesdays, these concise, nicely written emails connect you to all the great events that are happening at our parish. It is super easy to sign up, too!
Suggestions or inquiries? Contact Jason Garcia, Director of Communications, at [email protected].
OUR PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
We the people of St. Laurence Catholic Church
are centered in the love of Christ and live to glorify God in all that we do.
A mission statement defines the purpose of the organization - its reason for being - and articulates why the organization exists, not just what it does. The St. Laurence mission statement reflects input from Fr. Drew, his staff and parish leadership:
WHO: We the people of St. Laurence Catholic Church
WHAT: are centered in the love of Christ
WHY: and live to glorify God in all we do.
Let us be filled with the Holy Spirit, strengthened and renewed in our commitment to God and one another, to serve as a light to Sugar Land and the whole world!
LIVING THE LITURGICAL SEASONS AT ST. LAURENCE
Through the Liturgical Seasons of the Catholic Church we have been given a template upon which we can gauge all of our activities. When we are faced with so many good things it is difficult to discern what we should say yes to and what we should either say no to or put off until another time. By learning more about what the Church desires for us during the seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and Ordinary Time, we will be better equipped to discern not only what we should be doing or not doing, but also the spiritual nature of our activities.
