Adults walk alongside middle school teens as they grow in their relationship with Christ. They help create a welcoming environment where teens feel known, supported, and encouraged in their faith journey.
Core Team members serve as small group facilitators, connecting with and mentoring the teens in their groups. Through authentic relationships, they help teens recognize that they are cared for by God through the Catholic Church, especially through the parish community of St. Laurence.
During small group time, facilitators guide discussions based on the message proclaimed in the large group gathering. Using questions provided in advance, they help teens reflect on their experiences, explore the topic more deeply, and discover practical ways to live out their faith.
This relational ministry has been extremely effective in forming disciples for Christ and is deeply rewarding for those who serve. Our Youth Core Team is made up of high school students who serve alongside the Adult Core Team to model what it means to strive for holiness and live a life rooted in Christ. Through their leadership, authenticity, and witness, they provide middle school youth with relatable examples of faithful Christian discipleship.
Together with the Adult Core Team, Youth Core members can help lead talks and testimonies, facilitate games and activities, and actively engage middle schoolers during small group discussions. Their energy, enthusiasm, and youthful example of faith are an integral part of the success of Middle School Ministry and play an important role in helping younger teens feel welcomed, connected, and encouraged in their faith journey.
