The sealing of the Holy Spirit in Confirmation is the final sacrament of initiation into the Catholic Church.  If, for some reason, you have not received this powerful sacrament, we encourage you to do so!  Once each year Adult Confirmation preparation is offered for Catholics at least 18 years of age, graduated from high school, already been baptized, received first Eucharist, actively practicing their faith, and if married, marriage must be sacramental in the Catholic Church.

The Adult Confirmation Program at St. Laurence will begin on The class meets on 9 Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, in the St Francis room. 

It concludes with celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation at a Mass with one of our Bishops. The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Adult Confirmation ceremonies usually occur the weekend of Pentecost. We cannot guarantee that the ceremony will be held during the weekend of Pentecost. Please do not make travel arrangements for your family until we have a confirmed day and time.

SPONSORS

Adult Confirmation candidates are required to have sponsors. A sponsor must have received all the Sacraments of Initiation, be at least 16 years of age, be actively practicing the faith and have no marriage impediments. If a candidate does not have a sponsor, there are St. Laurence parishioners who are honored to companion candidates. This can be arranged at the time of the interview. Sponsors are asked to attend all sessions if possible.

Before registering, ask the church where you were baptized to "RE-ISSUE" your Baptismal Certificate dated within the in last 6 months.

Prior to attending the sessions, the confirmandees will need to set up an interview. After your Registration Form is received, Mary Visser will call you to set up a day and time for an interview.
